Motherhood reflections

Thankless tasks in the middle of the night

It’s 3:00 am…

Diapers, feedings, pumping, bottles, water, snacks, toddler, dogs…

I am exhausted just thinking about all I have to do. But I am a mom. This is what I do. Every. Single. Night. Alone. In the dark. In silence. My efforts unnoticed.

It reminds me of how silent and thankless a mother’s job can be. We take care of things in the shadows and when we do them, it is not noticed.

But if we didn’t do them, it would definitely be noticed.

Once I am done, I will go lay down (not in my own bed, but in the nursery) and pray that the twins will sleep until my toddler wakes up.
